The Causes
Traumatic Brain injury (TBI) can occur through a variety of mechanisms including: sudden or repeated blunt force trauma, known as "closed head injuries", oxygen depletion to the brain, also known as 'hypoxia', as well as, chemical toxosis, tumors, infections and stroke. Every year, 1.5 million individuals suffer a traumatic brain injury.
