Clergy Sexual Abuse in the Santa Rosa Diocese

In 2003 we represented survivors of abuse perpetrated by Reverend Donald Kimball and the Diocese of Santa Rosa Diocese, securing a settlement of $3,000,000 in compensation for damages suffered by our clients.

Kimball was ordained a priest in 1969 and served as a reverend at St. John Baptist Church in Santa Rosa during the 1980s. In 1990, he was accused of victimizing the teenage women of his congregation and was suspended from his priestly duties but not removed. By 1997 he had accumulated numerous allegations of sexual misconduct which ultimately lead to his laicization in 2000.

In 2002 criminal charges were officially filed against Kimball and he was sentenced to 7 years in prison but was released a year later due to an amendment to the statute of limitations. His freedom was short-lived, passing away in 2006 at the age of 62.
